I am doing research into my wife's ancestry (family name Barrett) and her old family tree documents say they lived in "Ulster, Co. Armagh". I can't find a town or village in that county today, but I did find reference to an Ulster just north of Broughderg.

Any idea where I should be looking?

Have you considered the possibility that you've got it the wrong way round?

What he means is that Ulster was/is considered a province and now forms
all of Northern Ireland. Armagh is a County and takes its name from the
Town of Armagh. So your search probably should focus on British records
for Northern Ireland and see if you can narrow it down in County Armagh.
